Purely organic, the sounds of the marimba refer to nature, to the origins of life. From its "hyle", wood, the raw material, emanate the first sounds of a repertoire that the human was able to hear when he was still in the infancy of his own language. Into the Wood(s) explores the palette of sound colours that unfold from the essence of this instrument: the dryness, the hardness in rich and incisive sonorities, but also the depth, the voluptuousness and the fluidity, which, in spite of its materiality, recall water. This Bagatelle expresses the desire to go to the heart of the sound and to play on the sound perspectives that emerge from the dialogue between the two marimbists, as the cause engenders an effect, as the echo responds to its source, as the tree can hide the forest.
